Interview: The Rebirth of Kula Shaker

An interview with Crispian Mills and Paul Winterhart from the band Kula Shaker about the new album K2.0 on RockShot Magazine

Kula Shaker

Has it really been 20 years since Kula Shaker released their debut album, K? At the time it was the fastest selling debut since Oasis’s Definitely Maybe, and went on to shift more than 1m copies. Follow up albums performed well and solidified a hardcore fan base, but ultimately failed to match the band’s initial commercial success.

Always excelling as a live band, they recently reformed and are currently touring throughout February and March, including a sold-out show at the Roundhouse in London. I recently met with lead singer Crispian Mills and drummer Paul Winterhart in west London where they were rehearsing their new album, K2.0. (more…)

Where’s Paul?

Пока Crispian Mills занимается своим фильмом, Paul Winterhart барабанит в группе Goldray. Группа отыграет на нескольких летних фестивалях, а в дальнейших планах тур по Англии в течение следующего года.

You can catch our very own Paul Winterhart playing drums with Goldray, the band of former Reef guitarist Kenwyn House.
The band are playing a few festival dates in summer but plan to be touring in venues around the country over the next year, so keep an eye out for them.
You can find out more about the band over on Goldrayband.com

Backstage with Kula Shaker

Aaron Coe got to grips with the reformed Kula Shaker baxckstage at the Junction. He spoke to frontman Crispian Mills and bassist Alonzo Bevan, with Paul Winterhart and Harry Broardbent lurking too.

Aaron: Why Reform after so many years apart? Did you picture yourselves reforming, with all the members busy with their own personal projects?

Alonzo: Well we all still stayed in contact and we still played together in some form or another, so it was something that came quite naturally really.

Crispian: Yeah we played a few shows as a three piece not really being Kula Shaker before it got announced.
Aaron: You have almost come to the end of this tour, how has it been so far?

Crispian: Good, yeah it’s been overall pretty good.

Alonzo: Yeah, they’ve all been good so far.  (more…)
